Republic F-84G Thunderjet

Tamiya's 1/48 scale F-84G Thunderjet is available online from Squadron

Description

This is Tamiya's 1/48 scale F-84G Thunderjet that I have just recently completed in US Air Force Markings on an aircraft based in Taegu, 1952.

This build was strictly straight from the box. I wanted to build it with canopy and gun bay closed so as to preserve the sleek lines of this early jet.

The exterior was finished in Alclad II Polished Aluminum, with everything else being a combination of Tamiya, Gunze and Polly Scale acrylics.

This is a beautiful kit and highly recommended for those interested in early U.S. jet aircraft. While quickly downgraded to a lesser role with the arrival of the F-86 Sabre, the F-84 Thunderjets played an important role as bombers.
