Revell's 1/48 scale Strike Eagle has been around for a few years now, but it still sets the standard for all 1/48 scale F-15 kits.

Avionix has now released a super detailed cockpit set for this worthwhile donor kit.

Avionix's F-15E Cockpit Ser comprises around 30 parts in cream coloured resin. Casting is perfect, and most of the casting blocks should be quite easy to deal with. The wide block underneath the cockpit tub should be shallow enough to eliminate with a coarse file or sanding stick.

The focus of this set is the one-piece cockpit tub that is brimming with realistic textures and intricate detail cast into place. The undercuts on the rear cockpit sidewalls and the quilted texture are especially impressive. The myriad of tiny cables and lines cast integrally with the one-piece tub will look terrific after careful painting.

The seats are equally well cast and display excellent attention to detail. For example, the harness straps are arranged differently on the two seats.

The remaining resin parts include the instrument coamings and panels, upper sidewalls, control columns, wheel well bulkhead and a number of other smaller details.

Instructions are supplied on a single sheet of folded letter-sized paper, with five well laid out construction steps. Willy Peeters' excellent line drawings are supplemented with some helpful detail painting advice.

Avionix's 1/48 scale F-15E Strike Eagle cockpit will add significant and useful detail to the Revell-Monogram kits kit, and will be very obvious through the large open canopy.

Highly Recommended to experienced modellers.
