Crisply moulded in very pale yellow resin, Pavla has captured all the detail contained in the full size real thing in 1/72 scale. In this review I cover three cockpits for the MIG 25P, Fiat G.91R3, and Mirage IV. The cockpits provided in the model kits are of an average standard compared to the detail provided by Pavla in their replacement cockpits is excellent. The parts have a small amount of residual resin flash that is easily removed with a sharp hobby knife.

Assembly will be straightforward with no apparent modification required of the kit plastic to allow the new cockpits to fit. Modellers with very basic modelling skills will be able to install these detail sets.

The instrument panels, cockpit tubs and ejection seats have some excellent raised and relief detail. A wash and careful paint highlighting will add even more life to the resin cockpit. The seats have the harness straps cast onto the seat.

The sets reviewed are:

C72061 MIG-25P replacement for the Condor kit

It is important to note that this set is mislabeled. It is for the MiG-25P, not the MiG-21P (there is no such variant of the MiG-21 anyway).

This detail set contains seven resin parts, ejection seat, cockpit tub, instrument panel, instrument shroud, sidewalls and control column. The detail on the seat has to be seen to believed.

C72059 Mirage IV for the Heller Kit

This detail set contains eight resin parts, two ejection seats, cockpit tub, two instrument panels, control column rudder pedals and bombsight.

C72060 Fiat G.91R3

This detail set contains four resin parts - ejection seat, cockpit tub, instrument panel, and control column. The detail in the cockpit tub is amazing.

A separate seat for the G.91 is available as set number S72044.

These are all very nice upgrades to increase the cockpit detail in the three kits and will look very realistic when fully assembled and painted.

All Highly Recommended

Thanks to Pavla for the review sample
