RAF Tornado Update 2007

Xtradecal, 1/72 scale

Xtradecal has produced excellent quality decals for many years, and they continue to do so with this release.They have produced yet another fine quality decal sheet depicting three anniversary schemes for the RAF Tornado F.3 and GR.4.  The decals are recommended for any of the 1/72 scale kits available with the best being the Hasegawa kits. 

The decals are superbly printed, have good colour saturation and are in perfect register.  As usual with Xtradecal, the carrier film is ultra thin. My experience with this company's products in the past has been that the decals have to be handled carefully but will snuggle down well into the surface detail.  The carrier film then almost totally disappears under a coat of clear. 

Four photographs of the aircraft are included in the instruction booklet.   

The three schemes provided are as follows: 

1. Tornado F.3 ZE734/JU, 90^th Anniversary of 111 Squadron, RAF Leuchars in 2007.  This aircraft is finished in Overall BS381C:627 Medium Sea Grey with a black spine and tail fin.  A large yellow lightening flash is painted on the tail fin.
2. Tornado GR.4 F.3 ZD748, 90^th Anniversary of 2(AC) Squadron, RAF Marham in 2007.  This aircraft is finished in Overall BS381C:627 Medium Sea Grey with a black spine and tail fin.  Large white anniversary markings are painted on the tail fin.
3. Tornado GR.4 ZA469 25 years of Tornado operations No 9 Squadron, RAF Marham in 2007.  This aircraft is finished in Overall BS381C:627 Medium Sea Grey with a black spine and tail fin.  The letters Tornado 25 years on is painted on the fin.
