Italeri 1/48 scale
Harvard Mk. IIb

by Stefano Marchetto

Westland Wessex HU.5

Description

Here’s my Harvard Mk. IIb based on the 1/48 scale Italeri kit. This variant of the famous North American T-6  was made under license by Noorduyn Aviation in Canada.

Starting in 1942, Canada's Noorduyn Aviation built under license a  Wright R-1340-AN-1-powered version of the North American AT-6A, for a total of 2,557 airplanes.

I did not use after-market accessories when detailing this kit. All enhancements were scratchbuilted (gears, engine, cockpit, etc.) using copper, styrene, brass….and fantasy!

All the surfaces were riveted.

The model was sprayed with Tamiya and Gunze acrylics, little parts brushed with Humbrol enamels.

Kit decals were used.

The paint job was completed with Tamiya Clear acrylics, polished with MicroMesh and Tamiya Compounds.
Greetings from Italy
