Review Type:

First Look.

Advantages:

At last a really fine set of the complex aerials, superbly etched and with clear instruction for construction and fitment.

Disadvantages:

None noted apart from the need for care with gluing.

Conclusions:

This set is certainly recommended to the Luftwaffe modeller looking for something far better than any plastic rendition, as the very fine aerials are superbly etched.

Having released the FuG 202 array a couple of years ago, it is great to see this far more complex set released. The etched sheet comes in the familiar clear sleeve with a card insert for protection. The parts are extremely fine and will require some very careful gluing as the contact areas are diminutive. Some kind of jig will be needed methinks!

Parts are provided for three complete arrays and two different mounts depending on the fuselage position. The arrays are superbly etched and of great finesse and will look marvellous when correctly mounted. The instructions occupy one quarter of an A4 sheet and no painting details are provided. No folding is required. The sheet indicates that these can be fitted to long range reconnaissance Luftwaffe aircraft, including the Ju88, Bv138, He177, Bv222, Fw200, and Ju290. Photos also show them fitted to He111, Me410 and Ju188.

Kora have previously released a similar set but these Brengun ones seem to be etched much finer.

This set is certainly recommended to the Luftwaffe modeller looking for something far better than any plastic rendition, but do take care with the gluing!

Thanks to Brengun for the review sample.
