FirstLook

Eduard has released a set of wheels for their brand new 1/48 scale F4F-3 Wildcat.

Inside the stout little cardboard box are two parts cast conventionally in grey resin, three parts in off-whte 3D printed resin, a masking sheet and instructions.

The wheels all have lovely detail cast in place. All wheels are cast in one piece each.

The tyres feature subtle flattening and bulging . The tyres are cast slick with no tread pattern.

Hub, brake and tyre detail is just lovely. The sidewalls feature raised lettering on both sides. Note that the kit tyres are not bulged or flattened, nor do they feature sidewall lettering.

Casting blocks for the main wheels will best be tackled with a razor saw.

Three choices of tail wheel and struts are offered (the kit only offers two).

Self-adhesive die-cut painting masks are included for all the wheels too.

Instructions are supplied on a single folded paper sheet.

Conclusion

These resin wheels will be a nice easy and noticeable detail upgrade for your Eduard 1/48 scale F4F-3 Wildcat.

Thanks to Eduard for the sample.
