Exito Decals celebrates the New Year with the release of two news sets available both in 1/48 and 1/72 scale.

Eastern Front Fighters Vol. 2

Our thirteenth decal set is entitled “Eastern Front Fighters Vol. 2” and contains markings for three different fighter aircraft operating in the East during World War II:

  • Yakovlev Yak-1b, coded ‘Red 22’ of 562nd IAP / 318th IAD PVO, Moscow area, USSR, 1943.

  • Messerschmitt Bf 110 E-2 trop, WNr. 4018, coded S9+GP, flown by Oblt. Günther Tonne, Kapitän of 6./SKG 210, Orel, USSR, December 1941.

  • Messerschmitt Bf 109 F-4 trop, WNr. 10098 (probable), flown by Obstlt. Günther Lützow, Kommodore of JG 3, southern sector of the Eastern front, USSR, May 1942.

Illustrations were created by Janusz Swiatlon and Anders Hjortsberg. None of these marking options have previously been reproduced in decal form. Period photos of two of depicted aircraft are included in the instructions. This set is available directly from the manufacturer:

Wulf Pack Vol. 2

Our fourteenth decal set is en?titled “Wulf Pack Vol. 2” and covers three different variants of the famous ‘Butcher Bird’:

  • Focke-Wulf Fw 190 A-5, WNr. 2648, ‘Yellow 3’, flown by Lt. Josef Wurmheller, Kapitän of 9./JG 2, Vannes, France, summer 1943.

  • Focke-Wulf Fw 190 A-8, WNr. 737938, ‘Blue 9’ of 4./JG 301, Germany, spring 1945.

  • Focke-Wulf Fw 190 D-9, WNr. 210129, ‘Red 9’ of 12./JG 54, Frankfurt am Main area, Germany, spring 1945.

The markings for one of the very few known Fw 190 A-5s with the famous JG 2 eagle design and a rare Fw 190 A-8 carrying the name ‘Steppke’, JG 11 emblem and JG 301 identification band, have never been reproduced in 1/48 or 1/72 scale decal form before, whilst the Fw 190 D-9 with the sparsely seen bright blue band of JG 54 was recently incorrectly identified and depicted by one of the kit manufacturers. Our instruction sheets include several photos of all depicted aircraft, some of which you may have never seen before. Illustrations were created by Janusz Swiatlon. This set is available directly from the manufacturer:

As previously, the decal sheets are printed by industry leader, Cartograf of Italy, which ensures top printing quality and ease of application. These are complemented by instructions that differ from the plain market standard. What you get are essentially high quality posters with accurate and inspiring illustrations. Each subject is presented on an A4-sized sheet, with large side aircraft profiles printed on the front, and the remaining artwork, reference photos and all necessary information laid out on the rear side. This way you not only get some cool decals for your model kit, but also attractive posters to adorn your man cave, at the same time!
