Bullseye Model Aviation has released a new 1/48 scale decal set covering five early F-16A Blocks 1 - 15.
The package also offers colour illustrated instructions.
The decals are designed for the Kinetic F-16A kit.
At this stage Kinetic does not offer an early Block F-16A but Hypersonic Models has a Block 1, 5 and 10 backdate conversion that includes small stabilators, early ECS exhaust, specific instrument panel and coaming. This is Set No. HMR-48055 and is available for USD$17.39 from Hypersonic Models' website.
The two Block 15s on the decal sheet may be built accurately straight from the box.
The 8.5" x 5.5" decal sheet is perfectly printed by Cartograf with a glossy finish.
Three sets of national markings and almost three sets of stencils are also included on the single decal sheet.
Instructions are called out over 12 half letter-sized pages.
Each of the subjects are treated to large left and right profiles. Smaller diagrams show the upper and lower surface camouflage for the two schemes.
There are also camouflage notes and diagrams, weapons summary, characteristics of the Block 1 / 5 / 10 and the Block 15, and a stencil guide.
There are six small but useful reference photos on the back cover too.
This is another high quality offering from Bullseye. This one will be warmly welcomed by early Viper fans.
Thanks to Bullseye Model Aviation for the sample.
