Xtradecal, 1/72 scale

Xtradecal has just released a new decal set that covers five more 1/72 scale post-war Avro Lancasters.

If you like your Lancasters, but you have a hankering for something other than your basic black (and Dark Earth and Dark Green), then you will be delighted to see this new Xtradecal release.

We have had to wait a long time for Parts Two and Three - Part One was released in 2005!

Post War Lancasters Part Three features six Lancs in some colourful and uncustomary schemes. They are:

1. Avro Lancaster B.Mk.I, '1808', Royal Egyptian Air Force, October, 1950.

2. Avro Lancaster Mk.X, BK904, 'CJ.P', part of the Royal Canadian Air Force Search & Rescue Force based at Sea Island Station, British Columbia, Canada, 1949.

3. Avro Lancaster B.Mk.VII (F.E), NX683, 'BL.G', of 40 Squadron, Royal Air Force, based at Abu Sueir, Egypt, 1946.

4. Avro Lancaster GR.3, SW329, 'CJ.G', of 203 Squadron, Royal Air Force, based at RAF St Eval, UK, 1946.

5. Avro Lancaster B.Mk.III, 'A66-1', 'Queenie VI' of used for promotion of war bonds in Australia,1944.

Instructions for the decal sheet are in full colour across one folded double-sided A4 and one A5 sheets.

Both side views and upper and lower views are provided for all five subjects.

Colour notes are offered, along with model paint callouts for Xtracolor enamels and Xtracrylix acrylics.

The decals are perfectly printed and feature thin carrier film.

Two decal sheets are included. One has large serial numbers and the second supplies national markings and other unique markings for each option.

I finished a Revell 1/72 scale Lancaster back in 2007 using Part 1 of this Xtradecal series. They performed perfectly.

I expect that Part 3 will perform just as well.
