A18002V Junkers Ju87 B Stuka
Renowned for its incredible detail as a 1976 tooling, the 1:24 scale Junkers Ju87B Stuka makes a diving return, complete with its original and iconic portrait box artwork, making it one of the most popular 2023 Vintage Classic introductions.
Ranked at skill level 4, the A18002V Junkers Ju87B Stuka in 1:24 scale is born once again, reinvigorating the Airfix Vintage Classic range with its much-loved attention to detail for a 1976 tooling. Once complete, the kit measures an overall length of 368mm and 437mm in width, containing 171 pieces. The kit also includes two schemes, with scheme B displaying as a Tropical Stuka, based at Derna, Libya, 1941.
An aircraft considered by many to be the most infamous in the history of warfare, the Junkers Ju87 Stuka was designed not only to inflict devastating strategic damage on opposing military forces, but to do so by spreading fear and confusion amongst their ranks, thus further reducing their effectiveness as a fighting force. A Stuka dive-bombing attack employed the use of a siren intentionally bolted to one of the aircraft’s undercarriage legs, which emitted a terrifying wailing cry, which would continue until the aircraft pulled out of its dive, only to be replaced by the sound of exploding bombs. Signifying impending devastation, the Stuka was the aviation manifestation of Blitzkrieg.
Destined for its revival, the 1:24 scale Junkers Ju87B Stuka excites many scale modellers with its imminent return, since its last release 12 years ago.
We will have more details in the coming weeks.
