Mask Set - self-adhesive, die-cut masks for clear parts and wheels.

Review Type: FirstLook
Advantages: High level of detail that will result in an impressive Airfix 1:72 scale Messerschmitt Me 410 A-1.
Disadvantages:
Recommendation:

The use of the photo-etched fret will result in a noticeably better detailed cockpit, especially around the instrument panel and side consoles. The addition of the photo-etched harness straps will also be a highly visible upgrade.

The 3D printed and photo-etched SPACE cockpit upgrade is a legitimate alternative to the PE.

The masks will save time and add sharp precision to the clear parts on this glasshouse canopy too!

These are very useful investments for your Airfix 1:72 scale Messerschmitt Me 410 A-1

FirstLook

Eduard has produced a range of accessories for the recent Airfix 1:72 scale Messerschmitt Me 410 A-1 kit.

Tonight I review three of Eduard's useful upgrades for this nice kit.

73817 - Eduard Photo-Etch - Me 410 A-1 for Airfix kit

Two photo-etched frets are supplied.

The first is pre-coloured and mainly focuses on upgrade parts for the cockpit including the instrument panel, harness straps, rudder pedals and many smaller details.

The second fret is brass etched and offers mainly exterior elements including vents, actuators, radiator faces, clothesline antenna and more.

3DL72027 - Eduard SPACE - Me 410 A-1 for Airfix kit

Eduard has expanded their range of accessories to include a SPACE multi-media update set for the Airfix 1:72 scale Messerschmitt Me 410 A-1 kit.

This SPACE set comprises a 3D printed instrument panel and separate resin printed parts, plus photo-etched parts for the half-tone harness straps for the pilot and crew.

The face of the instrument panel is pre-painted with impresive detail.

The printed faces look good in real life - actually significantly better than my much larger-than-life studio photos!

The STEEL photo-etched fret supplies nice flexible pre-coloured harness straps for the pilot.

Detailed instructions are included.

CX-658 Masks - Me 410 A-1 for Airfix kit

Die-cut, self-adhesive masks for the kit canopy and wheels.

These represent a fast and accurate solution for a time consuming and often disliked modelling task.

Conclusion

The use of the photo-etched fret will result in a noticeably better detailed cockpit, especially around the instrument panel and side consoles.

The addition of the photo-etched harness straps will also be a highly visible upgrade. The 3D printed and photo-etched SPACE cockpit upgrade is a legitimate alternative to the photo-etched upgrade.

The masks will save time and add sharp precision to the clear parts too!

These are very useful investments for your MiniCraft 1/48 scale P-47D-30 Thunderbolt.
