Description

The Tamiya F-4B is an amazing kit to build and surpasses all previous released F-4 Phantom kits. Currently we are blessed with some amazing 1/48 F-4 Phantom kits from Meng and Zoukei Moura all of which I have just completed and cannot speak highly enough of.

The Tamiya offering has been smartly engineered to have verry little joint seams and all are cleverly on perfectly fitting panel lines that require no remedial cleanup. The kit can be built without any after-market accessories as everything contains is very nicely detailed including the ejection seats and cockpit.

I chose as usual to replace the ejection seats with some amazingly detailed seats from Metallic details and the instrument panels and side consoles from Red Fox.

I am on a VFA 103 Jolly Rogers streak with various aircraft. The decals for the F-4B came from the Vagabond 48002 “Dem Bones” sheet and the final result looks excellent. I chose to do a Vietnam war load that I found a picture of.
