Art Scale Kit has released a new family of decal sets for 1/48 scale Boston Mk.III kits.
Tonight we examine Part 1.

HK Models has recently released an all-new and very nice Boston Mk.III kit.
The old AMT / Italeri kit isn't bad either.
Markings are supplied for the following four subjects:
-
Boston Mk.III, flown by Squadron Leader Charles Learmonth, 22 Squadron RAAF. Finished in Du Pont equivalents of Dark Earth and Dark Green.
-
Boston Mk.III, 24th Squadron, SAAF, April 1943. Finished in Dark Earth and Middle Stone upper surfaces over Azure Blue.
-
Boston Mk.III, 418th Squadron, winter 1942/43. Finished in overall heavily faded Night (Black)
-
Boston Mk.III, Tunisia 1943.
Finished in Dark Earth and Middle Stone upper surfaces over Azure Blue or Light Grey.
Instructions with four-view illustrations for all four subjects.

ASK has generously supplied national markings for all four subjects.
Decal printing quality looks very good. The decals are glossy in finish. Apparently the clear top layer of the decals may be removed after application with lighter fluid, much in the same way as current Eduard decals.

If desired, the clear decal film can be removed by careful peeling or with a wash off Zippo lighter fluid.

These are nice looking decals that will offer an individualised finish for your 1/48 scale Boston Mk.III.
Thanks to Art Scale Kit for the samples
