Happy Father's Day!

Dear Friends,

This weekend is Father's Day.  Denise and I both lost our dads a few years ago, and there is not a day that goes by that we don't think of them. Certainly, I would not be writing the books that I do were it not for the spark my dad planted in me when I was a child.

So - if you still have a dad, give him a hug, or at least a phone call this year.  If you ARE a dad, try to be the man your kid will want to call for years to come.

My dad was a US Army veteran, and my father-in-law a Navy veteran.  We miss their stories - one of my regrets is not recording some of them - in this age of remarkable cell phones, don't make the mistake we did, capture the voices and stories of your dad.
