David Doyle Books News #68
More New Arrivals - and More Space Needed!
Dear Friends,
Denise and I pray that all of you are well, and we ask that you join us in praying for our friend Maurizio, who has struggled with some setbacks in his cancer treatment.
This week some new books came in - and we restocked on some old favorites.
Here are some highlights:
Restocked many of our books about the famed WWII Jeep and expanded our selection.
New:
A-20 Havoc and Boston Modellers Airguide
F-14 Tomcat Modellers Manual Volume 2
In addition to the two new titles above from Airmark, we restocked many of the titles in their line, including their very popular B-25 Mitchell Modellers Airguideand A-26 Invader Modellers Manual.
To make browsing easier and faster, we've now divided our modelling-oriented publications onto five pages:
Aircraft Modeling
Armor Modeling
Diorama and general modeling techniques
Figure painting and sculpting
Naval Modeling
This week we also restocked on a number of other aircraft and armor modelling books - so please follow the links above.
We are thankful that during my tests earlier this week, no indication of my feared bloodclot was found - but by the time we got the clear signal it was too late for us to go on our planned trip to the Historic Construction Equipment Association Convention. We are sorry to miss that.
We were also not able to install our new shelving last weekend, which while disappointing does give us a little more time to move stuff out (only to put it back again). So, to keep from double handling these publications, we've decided to have another sale, featuring more of the books in the area where the shelving will be replaced.
From now through Monday ONLY we are offering a full 50% OFF on all in stock publicatoins found on our non-English Language page and our remaining inventory of MMiR (Military Miniatures in Review).
We also want to clarify our shipping program. It is important to us that you get the right books, in new condition, and in a timely manner. That said, in theory my "real job" is writing books - and of late I have been neglecting the writing (and Denise the scanning), instead spending our time shipping. My publishers have been very gracious about this - but I have to do better. So, we'll be adhering more to our published policies of shipping on Tuesdays and Thursdays (or Fridays) - thereby giving us the time to concentrate on creating new books for you to enjoy. We understand that some times folks held up needing a book to complete a restoration or build. Thus we offer a premium shipping option. This option, which is $4.95 plus $1 for each item, typically gets an order shipped within 24 hours. In other words, we drop what we are doing to pack and ship such orders. Exceptions to this are clearly when we are away for research or to attend shows - but a banner appears on our website stating such. We have made several attempts to hire some help with the shipping, but so far we not been able to get the right person to fill this role. We are confident that you understand our situation regarding all of this.
We thank all of you for your ongoing support!
Sincerely,
David and Denise
