David Doyle Books News #85

Happy New Year!

Dear Friends,

Denise and I hope all of you had a safe and joyful New Year's Eve celebration to bring in what we pray will be a great and safe new year for all of us.

We would also like to take this time to thank all of you for your support and the part you played in allowing us to have a succesful 2025 - and we look forward to continuing to serve you in 2026.

Parts of 2025 were difficult - we had to learn the many new policies and regulations on imports, and the increased fees associated with them. We navigated some health issues, and appreciate your patience while dealing with these matters.

We had our biggest show display ever at the IPMS National Convention this year - 16 tables!  And, I learned that father time is catching up with me, and I am simply too old to do that big of a display again, and its not fair for me to expect Denise to do it all!

Similarly, unfortunately, when it comes to writing and releasing new books, we fell behind last year - and while I am not much on "New Year's resolutions" - I do resolve to step up the writing in 2026.  While we continue to strive to give the best customer service possible, including prompt shipping, we have made some changes in an effort to free more time for writing.

Part of this involved some renovation of our garage - also known as our vast warehouse :). - now we are a bit less reliant on going "where did I put those books?"

Even with that, space is a problem, as we are constantly getting in new books.  Just this week we got several new titles that are scattered over the site, a few of the highlights are:

Spezialfahrzeuge 1 - Peenemunde 1942-45 - a detailed study of the special vehicles that supported the German V-2 program.

Scenes from Normandy - a step by step guide to ten dioramas/vignettes of this campaign.

AFVs Essentials - A selection of articles from The Weathering Magazine curated by Mig Jimenez

We've also restocked on several lines, including PanzerwrecksPanzer Tracts, and PeKoas well as the new Tracked Carriers books, both volumes of Israeli Half-tracks and the revised British WWI trucks books.

Unfortunately, as it seems to happen every year at this time, we also had a lot of books damaged in transit.  Those are offered at steep discounts on their own special page right here.  All are perfectly readable, but they have some cosmetic damage.

Despite our garage renovation, with the many new books coming in the first quarter of 2026, we still need to gain a lot of space - to do that we need to move a lot of books quickly, so we are offering an additional 10% off all orders of $100 or more of in-stock items from now until midnight 5 January 2026.  While the sale lasts 5 days - our inventory of that special book you want may not - so don't hesitate, order now. No discount code needed, the discount will be applied automatically during checkout.

We do ask that as you check out you do confirm that you have accurately entered your shipping address - what you type in literally makes the shipping label without human review.  Street number and street name go on the same line.  Inaccurate address entry delays you getting your books, and triples the shipping cost (and you'd be surprised how many folks expect me and Denise to pay for that extra shipping cost).

Denise and I remain grateful for your support, and hope to see all of you later this year!

Sincerely,

David and Denise Doyle
