David Doyle Books News #90
Things are Improving
Dear Friends,
Denise and I would like to thank all of you for your patience, and we pray that you are all keeping safe and warm.
Temperatures here continue to be bitterly cold, but we are told things will warm (briefly) early this coming week, before dipping back into the single digits.
With some help from our friends and neighbors, yesterday (Friday) morning we were able to get to the post office almost all the orders which had been placed up through Thursday. And Friday was the first day that mail trucks were actually able to get the mail out of town...so things are certainly improving.
The 2-3 orders that did not get out yesterday will be shipping soon - those books are stored in an another building we can't currently get to due to ice. We appreciate your patience.
We were also able to get a couple of small shipments, so we will have a bit of that news in a moment.
With several days of nothing going in or out, I've been able to make some progress on some of my book writing projects (that is still what I really like to do, but it seems have little time for) and we've also been able to put on line a number of books that came from other dealer buyouts that have been lingering around here, in some cases for years!
This week we received Air Modeller 124, as well as restocks of Air Modeller and AFV Modeller back issues. Also arriving were restocks on Airmark, Dioramag and Abrams Squad. We are hopefully that as road (and airport) conditions improve we will get several more shipments next week.
We have added many books throughout the site, especially on our Axis aircraft, Armor Modeling, Aircraft Modeling, and Diorama and General Modelingwebpages.
Also, if I've not mentioned it previously, we are now taking reservations for my new detailed study of the M1 and M1A1 Heavy Wreckers. While this book does include some photos of restored examples, by far the majority of the images presented are wartime photos, many of them previously unpublished, and the accompanying text is drawn from original, primary source material. Use the link above to reserve your copy now to be sure and not be left out.
Denise shared this clean joke with me that you can share it with your children and grandchildren - What did one snowman say to the other? "Do you smell carrots?"
Denise and I remain grateful for your support!
Sincerely,
David and Denise Doyle
