Grumman Hellcat II

Hasegawa's 1/48 scale F6F-3 Hellcat  is available online from Squadron.com

This is Hasegawa's 1/48th Hellcat built straight from the box.

The colour scheme was inspired by a photo of this aircraft caught the emergency arresting wires of a carrier in a superb Fleet Air Arm at War book I picked up at a jumble sale.

The aircraft is, however, missing the numbers 145 on either side and the serial number is from a Corsair on an Aeromaster sheet (as are the Pacific Theatre roundels), but it didn't bother me as I'm happy the finished article.

 A quick build this one, 4 days (with 3 or 4 hours per day) from start to finish!
