This is Dragon's 1/350 scale Type XXI U-Boat.

This small model is beautifully detailed. I built the model
almost straight from the box except for cutting down the length of the periscope
and adding the simple rigging from the conning tower to the hull.

Not having access to specific paints for submarines, I used
colours from my collection of enamel aircraft paints. The upper hull and
superstructure is painted the equivalent of RLM 74, while I used Tamiya Panzer
Grey enamel for the lower hull.

This model has inspired me to build more submarines - both
German and Allied!
