Model Alliance has produced another fine quality decal sheet depicting USN and USMC Boeing/McDonnell Douglas T-45A/C Goshawk Trainers.  The decals are available in both 1/72 scale MAS-729031 and 1/48 scale MAS-489031.  The decals are designed for the 1/72 Scale Italeri Goshawk and the 1/48 Scale Collect-Air resin kit. 

The decals are superbly printed with good colour saturation and register.  As usual the carrier film is ultra thin and my experience with Model Alliance Decals in the past has been that the decals have to be handled carefully and snuggle down into the surface detail well.  The carrier film then almost totally disappears under a coat of clear. 

All the data decals are provided as well as the wing walkways.  Jon Freeman has once again done a superb job of the decal artwork and the instruction sheet artwork.  Fourteen thumbnail size photographs of the aircraft are included on the back cover of the instruction booklet.  The instructions also give some good detail colours and weathering for some of the aircraft. 

All aircraft are finished in gloss white FS17875 with FS18913 US Navy Trainer Orange panels. 

The four schemes provided are as follows

  2. T-45A BuAer No 163635-205 of VX-23 ‘NAV AIR’ United States Navy, Naval Air Systems Command (NASC) Patuxent River Md.

  3. T-45A BuAer No 165467-124 of VT-7 ‘Eagles’ Training Wing 1 (TW-1) United States Navy, NAS Meridian, MS during 2001.

  4. T-45A BuAer No 163654-254 flown by L/Cdre Gabriel ‘Rage” Pincelli of VT-21 “Red Hawks’ Training Wing 2 (TW-2) United States Navy, NAS Kingsville Texas during 1995.
